Summary
Postscript
500 pages per minute is 5000 database transactions for nile.com and yippee.com got left in the dust back at step 6. Our database machines are getting overloaded. Time to upgrade to a higher end Solaris machine. There went $100K... But wait, we need two, one for backup and to increase our transaction rate. There went $200K. We'll keep the old midrange Solaris boxes, and use them for our WO servers. Since the Solaris boxes have multiple CPUs, we need to upgrade to an unlimited TPM with unlimited CPUs WO license for $25K.

Once you reach a certain number of T1 lines, you might as well get a T3 for the same price. You'll have to upgrade your network hardware, so that's another 10K, but you'll have the equivalent of 28 T1 lines. Yippee.com doesn't need a T3 yet, but it could use another T1 line...
